I was con’d (lol) by my beautiful daughter into being a chaperon for her Arroyo High School field trip to the Point Bonita YMCA center, located in the Marin Headlands. It was a surprisingly cold (better yet, FREEZING) morning as we loaded the bus, jumped on the freeway and headed toward San Francisco. The sprinkles hitting the bus’ windshield only added to the beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge.
After a noisy bus ride of a little less than an hour, we arrived at the Point Bonita YMCA facility around 9am. The kiddos filed off the bus and gathered near the door, for the driver to open the bottom compartment so everyone could retrieve their backpacks and lunch bags. The YMCA trail guides came out to greet the kids and directed us to the bathrooms and then a sitting area for a brief overview of what the days adventure would hold.
After sitting for a few words, the kids were broken into two groups which would end up at different locations. Group A would take a various trails through the headlands to end up at the Point Bonita Lighthouse, and Group B would take alternate trails through the headlands to end up at Muir Beach. I was the parent chaperon of Group B. All the kids were excited and ready for anything :)
Here are a few pics from the day’s adventure,
